Greetham Retrat CL is an award-winning Caravan & Motorhome Club CL site and received votes and recommedations from club members, acheiving 1st place, being the national overall winner in the annual 'CL of the Year competition in 2013'. It was also a Regional Winner for Central England in the CL of the Year in both 2012 and 2014.
Our CL site is set in over 4 acres of beautiful natural parkland grounds, attracting much wildlife and with fantastic views across the rolling hills of the lovely tranquil Lincolnshire Wolds near the traditional market town of Horncastle in Lincolnonshire.
As a Caravan & Motorhome Club Certificated Location (CL) we will only accept a maximum of five touring caravans or motorhomes. The CL site has excellent access with wide gateways and proper made-up roadway leading to all the pitches. The site is very tranquil and peacfull with fantastic views from all pitches over the wildflower meadow and the rolling hills of the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds, making it perfect for that relaxing getaway.
Greetham Retreat CL is also open all year, it has a similar quality and standard of facilities, to those offered on most of the Caravan Clubs own sites.
Pitches cost just Â£20 per night all year round and everything is included in the pitch price. We do not charge extra for pets, awnings, hot showers, use of WC, additional adults, visitors etc. We also provide Free Wi-Fi.
We have five large, level, good quality caravan club standard, hard-standing pitches, plus parking area to the front and an alternative grass pitch which will may be available during the summer (subject to weather).
The site spans a gentle slope, the pitches are terraced and provide a flat, level surface for each van but they are slightly screened by banking, a wildflower meadow and some trees. All pitches have fantastic panoramic views across the Lincolnshire Wolds which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Having been caravanners ourselves for many years, we have tried to ensure that our CL site is equipped and designed to the highest standards and we are confident that you will enjoy staying here at Greetham Retreat CL, its truely a fantastic location for a longer holidays and that midweek or weekend getaway.
Luxury Self-Catering Cottages:
It is also possible to book one or more of our award-winning luxury self catering holiday cottages here at Greetham Retreat together with pitches on our CL site. Our stylish holiday accommodation can accommodation famlies or couples. We ave three 1 bedroomed self catering holiday let accommodation just for couples and a 2 bedroom cottage that can sleeps 4 people. Most of our holiday accommodation is pet friendly. CL Site Facilities:
> Free WiFi has just been installed and is available for all guests at Greetham Retreat.
> All pitches have 16 amp electric hook-ups.
> A top quality service area is situated on site and features a fresh water tap as well as waste (grey) water and chemical toilet disposal points plus a general waste area with separate dustbins for recycling.
> A high specification, modern, toilet and shower room is located within the main building at Greetham Retreat, specifically for use by guests staying on our caravan site. It's heated and has an electric shaving socket, wash hand basin with hot and cold water, hand dryer, is fully tiled with quality fittings and includes a toilet and large family shower cubicle.
> A laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier are available for all guests staying at Greetham Retreat (a small charge applies).
Our extensive 4 acres of Parkland Grounds:
Greetham Retreat CL site is set in four acres of natural parkland grounds which include woodland areas, wildlife ponds and wildflower meadows all with mowed walkways and various seating areas for guests to rest, take in the outstanding views and perhaps enjoy a picnic. The grounds have been designed with conservation in mind and to this end we have also erected bird and bat boxes, have a bug hotel with the intention of attracting and encouraging local wildlife.

Pitches cost just Â£20 per night all year in 2020 and 2021 a deposit may be required for advanced bookings as we are a very popular site. (We do not charge extra for pets, additional people, awnings, electricity, use of hot shower, WC or WiFi as everything is included in the pitch fee).
The peaceful countryside of Lincolnshire is the perfect place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are plenty of activites and places to visit to suit everyone, from cycling to museums to theme parks!
Here are some suggestions to get you started on planning your perfect getaway:
Walking and Wildlife:
The scenic Lincolnshire Wolds have been designated as an AONB. The sprawling countryside with its beautiful scenery and historic sites is renowned for its walks and long distance paths. Willingham Woods, situated just outside of Market Rasen, is a large woodland area with a number of different trails to explore. Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is a three mile stretch of unspoilt coastland famous for its outstanding wildlife, especially its birds. Enjoy bird watching from its observatory â€˜The Look outâ€™ and, after a walk on the beach, relax in the cafe at the visitors centre. The internationally renowned Donna Nook is a must for its large and very accessible Grey Seal breeding colonies. They can be seen calving in October to December each year and there are excellent public viewing areas that allow you to get a fantastic view of the seal pups.

For those wishing to see some more exotic animals, Friskneyâ€™s Parrot Zoo or The Woodside Wildife and Falconry Park make fun days out. The Parrot Zoo, incorporating the National Parrot Sanctuary, boasts the UKâ€™s largest collection of parrots and is keen on conservation and research. Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park is home to owls and eagles as well as marmosets, butterflies and lizards!
For animals that are a little more familiar, Rand Farm Park near Lincoln offers children a hands-on learning experience at a genuine working farm.
Historic Sites and Museums:
Lincolnshire is full of historic sites and buildings. A must-see is Lincoln Castle, one of the most impressive Norman castles in the UK and home to one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. Lincoln Cathedral, a short walk from the castle, towers grandly over the city; the oldest parts of the cathedral are almost a thousand years old. Nearer to Greetham Retreat is the stunning Tattershall Castle; built in the 15th Century this rare, red brick castle with six atmospheric floors to explore and fabulous views from the battlements is a medieval gem. There are also a great many Aviation Heritage Centres nearby. The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, just seven miles from the Retreat, is a family run museum that holds the very rare Avro Lancaster Bomber in its collection. Visit The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre on a flying day for a truly spectacular experience. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor's Centre at RAF Coningsby provides fascinating exhibitions as well as the opporutnity to take a guided tour around the hangar to see the Flight's historic aircraft.
The famous seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe are just twenty miles from Greetham Retreat. Both are lively, traditional seaside holiday towns and have Blue Flag beaches. There is plenty to do for both young and old; Mablethorpe offers all the fun of the fair as well as an international circus in the summer season, while Skegness has plenty of arcades, shops and the popular Natureland Seal Sanctuary. Sutton on Sea is another option with a fantastic Blue Flag beach for those who prefer a quieter resort.
There are also theme parks along the coast. Fantasy Island near Skegness and Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes offer kidsâ€™ rides and family shows as well as â€˜white-knuckleâ€™ rides for the thrill seekers! Local Market Towns:
Lincolnshire has a great variety of market towns, each with its own unique character and attractions. The nearby town of Horncastle has many historical buildings and features and is renowned for its wonderful antique shops. Visit on a market day to sample local produce and really take in the atmosphere of these charming towns.

There are plenty of opportunities for evening entertainment. The Embassy Theatre in Skegness has a wide variety of performances from tribute bands and concerts to comedians and pantomimes. Golfers may wish to visit The National Golf Centre in nearby Woodhall Spa, featured in Golf Worldâ€™s Top 100 Courses 2010. Kenwick Park Golf Club in Louth is also a popular choice. Those keen on fishing will find several parks for course fishing as well as Withern Mill Trout Farm for fly fishing. If you are a fitness enthusiast or just want to take the kids swimming, there are several local gyms in the area, including the brand new Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth and the local Horncastle Swimming Pool and Lifestyle Fitness Suite.
Those with an interest in motorsports will enjoy Cadwell Park, a circuit that is especially popular with bikers nationwide.
