Local Attractions

Only 30 minutes drive with easy access to the 'park & ride' north of the City lies York , England's "Eternal City" a place of outstanding beauty steeped in history surrounding the mighty 'Minster', where Roman and Viking history live side by side with re-created Victorian and Edwardian streets. Combined with modern shops, cafes and bars all sympathetically adding to the mix York is a city where one visit will never be enough to soak in all it's delights.

Within about a mile of Oakdene Farm is the lovely, historical village of Crayke. Perched on a hill this conservation village has panoramic views over the surrounding area. With a high proportion of listed buildings and some, such as the Castle and the Manor, are of historical significance. Crayke has also maintained some of its traditional features such as the pinfold, used to hold stray animals, and the village well. The Durham Ox is a very popular, award winning traditional pub complete with flag stone floors, exposed beams, oak panelling and roaring fires in winter.
