Local Attractions

The nearest Lakeland Fells, the Northern Fells, are only 5 to 10 minutes drive from the site. They are popular with walkers who prefer the quietness, and virtually unrivalled, un-trodden territory, (yet to be discovered by most) with no problems parking your car.

Our Local roads are virtually traffic free, therefore ideal for cycling and walking. There are also foot paths through the fields.

Riverside offers the peace and quietness you would expect from an adult only site, however you have the option of being in the busy well- known parts of the Lakes, even Southern Scotland, the Solway coast, Hadrians Wall, or the Historic Border City of Carlisle, all within a 20 to 40 minute journey by car.

The Old Crown, dog friendly pub is 1.5 miles away, in our neighbouring village of Hesket Newmarket. The Old Crown is now famous for the award winning real ales brewed in it's adjoining micro-brewery. It also boasts a very respectable reputation for food, with quite an extensive good value menu.

The Village Shop at Hesket Newmarket stocks a comprehensive selection of every day grocery and fresh food items. It also has an integral Post Office, plus a seasonal Tea Room.
